Music Control for iTunes, Spotify, Rdio and Personalized Internet Radio App Reviews

I love the idea, but it does have some glitches. It often takes a few minutes to switch between players and in Pandora each song will initially blare for a few seconds and then go back to the set volume.

Not seeing the automatic Facebook posting. I authorized the app and the checkbox is checked. Seems to be broken. Otherwise, a great app that works as advertised.

I bought this because of the awesome features it promised. For a long time I had given up on using it because of the bugs it had with Pandora and with switching between music sources. A few hours after using the new version, though, I can say that it seems that these errors are gone. Overall pretty pleased. I just wish it had keyboard media keys support, but alas… sandboxing.

This app isnt very good with airplay, no last.fm plugin, you cant use the hotkeys when running it in the background -i.e. when you are playing a game, you have to click on this apps icon and THEN use the hotkeys (the weird bit: you cant control it very well with your mouse). I wanted a way to manage Pandora and Last.fm songs in the background. This isnt it. Very slick looking, though, once you click on that little menu icon (there isnt any dock icon).

Prerfect for stream radio listeners

Just what I was looking for. Knows all the services I use and hang around in the menubar out of the way until I want it.

Can’t play Rdio even the icon showing in the example images. There is no reasonable function to auto-detect the players you “could” use, but no one knows how this logic works.

locked up pandora

Once loaded it has locked up Pandora and now I can’t use Pandora. Keeps changing my passwords. It’s a waste.

Doesn’t work at all

Does not work at all on 10.9.5. I don’t have the options that are referred to in set-up. App does not work in the bakground so really no point.

I bought this tiny app because I wanted to remote-control my Mac Mini iTunes server without having to use the iOS Remote app or Screensharing (which was my usual method). I wanted to be able to quickly play/pause music. WORKS GREAT for that purpose. And combined with notifications that pop up when the tune changes, this is a very handy little app. A couple of minor complaints: The app is not attractive. The design is overcrowded and a bit amateurish. Not incompetent, just visually way too busy. If they just cleaned it up and simplified it along the lines of most Mac apps (eliminate any design elements that aren’t critical, and flatten everything as much as possible) it’s be much easier on the eyes and less visually noisy. I’d love to see more Preferences so that I could eliminate buttons that I’m not interested in using (the Social icons, the iTunes icon at bottom left that doesn’t do much, the Ratings icons). And I’d love to be able to control the ordering and width of the menu display, so that this app would show up to the left of all other icons and leave more room for song title width (though that’s perhaps a missing Apple feature more than anything else). Also, it doesn’t trigger my remote Mac’s Wake On Network Access, so I need to wake up my Mini by pinging it through the Remote iOS app or Screensharing if it’s asleep, in order to start playing music. But once music is playing, this app is great. It remembers between launches that I’m trying to control a remote Mini, so I don’t have to go re-set that Pref. And it lets me quickly play/pause and even do quick remote Search to find an album, which was unexpected and handy. But despite these small complaints I’m pleased. The app has worked perfectly for me, and it was reasonably priced.
